Donations To Our Organization
Consider the Gift that Keeps Giving!
An “In Honour” donation is a unique way to celebrate those who are special to us. Occasions such as birthdays, weddings, anniversaries, or the holidays are just a few examples when this type of donation may be considered. Remembering someone close to you with an “In Honour” donation as an alternative to flowers or a more traditional gift, means a lasting contribution to someone in need. Donors receive an official tax receipt for a minimum donation of $10. We will send a card acknowledging the donation with the appropriate occasion being celebrated. “In Honour” donations are great to give and, of course, wonderful to receive. Contributions would stay in our community supporting and enhancing the programs and services provided by Community Care. The next time you are struggling to find that perfect gift, consider the gift that keeps on giving.
Gift Certificates are available year-round for our programs and services, when you have a senior to buy for that has everything. Just call the office and we will provide you with the appropriate certificate.

Types of Planned
Giving Wills: A bequest in your will to Community Care is the simplest & most common way to arrange a planned gift. There are different types of bequests. Your lawyer or estate planner can help you decide which is best for you.
Gifts of Insurance: A gift of life insurance is another easy way to support Community Care. Almost any type of life insurance can be used as a charitable gift by naming us as the owner or beneficiary of your policy. Your lawyer or estate planner can give you more details on how to arrange such a gift.
Charitable Annuities: A donor gives Community Care a gift or donation of a sum of money and an annuity is purchased. The donor receives an income usually for the rest of his or her life. Upon the death of the donor, Community Care would receive the balance of the annuity. An approximate tax deduction (receipt) is available at the time that the annuity is purchased.
Charitable Remainder Trusts & Gifts of Residual Interest: A Charitable Remainder Trust is established when a donor makes a gift or donation of a sum of money to Community Care. The donor receives the income generated by the money in the trust investment for the rest of his or her life. Community Care receives the balance of the trust upon the donor’s death. An approximate tax deduction (receipt) is available at the time that the trust is established.
Publicly Traded Securities: Following the elimination of capital gains on donations of publicly traded securities in 2006, gifts of securities is now the most tax efficient way to make a charitable donation and a great way for donors to make a greater impact with their gift.
Planned Giving is any gift or bequest that is arranged now to provide charitable funds in the future. Planned giving is your opportunity to invest in your own community. By arranging a planned gift for Community Care, you help to secure the future of the people we support and you can feel the satisfaction of making a difference in someone’s life to stay in their own home. Planned Giving also allows you to take advantage of financial and tax breaks.
Planned giving to Community Care will give you the satisfaction of helping people in your community; the opportunity to continue your tradition of supporting valuable community services; a legacy of giving; and many tax benefits. For more information about planned giving, please call us at 613-473-9009 or 1-800-554-1564.
